Philippine Airlines and Habitat for Humanity Philippines (HFHP) have forged a partnership which will enable both parties to create joint initiatives to expand the reach of their corporate social responsibility advocacies, programs and services. PAL President Jaime J. Bautista, Habitat Capital Campaign Cabinet Chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala and HFHP CEO and Managing Director Charlie Ayco were present during the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement held at the airline's corporate headquarters in Pasay City today (Jan.25).
The flag carrier shall donate five hundred thousand (500,000) miles as one-time donation for the year which Habitat shall use for travel to any PAL destination in order to implement its socio-civic endeavors for the underprivileged sectors of society.
PAL President and COO Jaime J. Bautista said, “Your national carrier's service orientation goes beyond carrying people and cargo.. PAL serves those in need and contributes to social development. These include: sending aid to calamity victims to flying indigent patients for treatment and sending exceptional but financially challenged individuals to represent the country in international competitions. This new partnership with provides PAL a new avenue to be of service to others. We look forward to a long-lasting partnership with Habitat for Humanity Philippines.”
Habitat provides simple, decent and affordable shelter to beneficiaries who belong to the bottom thirty percent (30%) of the Philippine income distribution within the context of building or transforming communities.
